MOGA to launch debut festival in Morocco

The brand new three-day event centring on electronic music and culture will take place in Essaouira

Attendees of a new music festival concentrating on electronic music and culture in Moroccan beauty spot Essaouira will be greeted by “musical brunches, educational workshops, beach parties and digital video installations” this autumn.

The shores of Essaouira, Morocco – the area formerly known as the Mogador – will be crammed full of events and happenings as part of the three-dayer, and the festival will strive to commit to building on Moroccan heritage and “creating a link between traditional and modern culture.” As well as this, MOGA says it will foster an exchange between “those involved in the African electronic music scene and their counterparts from around the world.”

While the line-up isn’t public as of yet, the eclectic nature of the festival promises more than a few big names alongside some homegrown breakthrough talents.

MOGA will take place 14-16 October in Essaouira, Morocco. Check out the teaser video above, and check out updates on Facebook and Twitter.
