The future-forward icon is to create “a channeled work of liquid music, a compounded high spirit, natural, raw and sacred”
FKA twigs is to jump on the celebrity fragrance bandwagon – but of course, in typical twigs style, hers promises to avoid the hallmarks of your standard celebrity perfume (here’s looking at you, Kylie, Britney and Nicki).
The scent will be created by independent Seattle perfumery House of Matriarch, founded by Christi Meshell. Meshell said of the release that it will be nothing like a typical “celebrity fragrance, 99 percent of which have no energetic tie to the artist — they are licensing deals”, and said that she worked closely with twigs to make a “very personal high perfumery creation as a surprise for her fans — a channeled work of liquid music, a compounded high spirit, natural, raw and sacred.”
This ‘magical’ elixir may not even be released to her fans, however, as she “may choose not to share it with anyone at all. And that would be fine with me.”
Don’t expect it down Boots, however: “She’s very antiestablishment like I am. She doesn’t want to sell it at any retailer,” said Meshell. “Overnight, she’s going to add it to her website. Her fans are dying for anything she drops.”
