London’s Born & Bred festival cancel Azealia Banks

Rinse FM’s flagship London festival Born & Bred have pulled Azealia Banks from their line-up after the singer posted a slew of racial slurs on Twitter

Last night Azealia Banks took to Twitter and Periscope to rage against Zayn Malik, UK rappers and more. Banks continually directed derogatory racial epithets at Malik whilst simultaneously claiming that UK rappers have no “swag”.

The tirade has landed Banks in hot water, as London festival Born & Bred have pulled her from her headline slot at the festival which is due to take place in Haggerston Park on 4 + 5 June.

“We have decided to cancel Azealia Banks’ headline performance at Rinse | Born & Bred festival,” the festival said on Twitter. “Rinse | Born & Bred is a celebration of rave culture and has been created for EVERYONE. We celebrate inclusivity and equality.”
