Fatima Yamaha’s remix of Metronomy’s Old Skool is available for streaming ahead of the album’s 1 July release on Because Music
You may have seen our recent cover feature with Metronomy’s Joe Mount (it’s here, just in case you didn’t) in which he spoke about the band’s upcoming album Summer 08. Mount told us that he wants to take the album back to Metronomy’s roots with danceable oddities and tons of retro hooks. The album’s first single, Old Skool, did exactly that.
This morning Metronomy have shared Dutch producer Fatima Yamaha’s own spin on Old Skool. Yamaha gives the track a definitive dancefloor thud and a deep, squelchy, synth makeover. Take a listen to Yamaha’s version below.
