Duncan Jones has taken to Twitter to say that his father’s ashes were not scattered at Burning Man festival
Yesterday we reported that David Bowie’s ashes had been scattered at Burning Man Festival in Nevada. The story originated from a quote given to the E! network for a source close to Bowie who had said that Bowie’s wife Iman had allowed his godson to take a portion of the ashes to the festival for a small ceremony.
This morning Bowie’s son, the director Duncan Jones, has confirmed that this story is in fact completely untrue. Jones took to Twitter to debunk the myth joking that his dad would rather have had his ashes scattered at Butlin’s Skegness than at Burning Man.
That Burning Man thing? What people will do & say for attention never ceases to amaze me. Not true. Kind of a gross claim as well. *sigh*

…We all know if dad DID want his ashes scattered in front of strangers, it would be at the Skegness Butlins. 😉 pic.twitter.com/0Oh1g9tGke
