Veteran punk rocker Iggy Pop told a crowd at his Red Bull Music Academy lecture, “I’d rather listen to The Black Madonna than the very popular EDMs.”
Last night Iggy Pop gave a lecture for Red Bull Music Academy in Montreal. Among other anecdotes the Stooges frontman gave the audience a window into his contemporary listening tastes, namedropping The Black Madonna and Young Thug as just some of his favourites, telling the audience, “I’d rather listen to The Black Madonna than the very popular EDMs.”
According to Red Bull Music Academy’s Lauren Martin he also ticked off Gold Panda, Perfume Genius and former Crack cover stars Sleaford Mods as some of his current preferred listens.
The event was streamed live last night via RBMA Radio. Check out some choice quotes in the Tweets below.
