Beyoncé’s epic visual album lost out to the directors of Grease: Live and the citizens of Twitter are not happy
This year Beyoncé’s Lemonade, a powerful visual album, was nominated for not one but four Emmy Awards. Most of those gathered at the 68th edition of the awards ceremony, which took place last night in Los Angeles, were expecting Bey to strut away with the prize for Outstanding Directing For A Variety Special. Just imagine the shock when the world learned that the winner was… Wait for it… Grease: Live. And the award for biggest anticlimax goes to.
Of course, Queen Bey’s loyal Beyhive were on hand to show the world (or at least the population of the world who regularly use Twitter) that even though Beyoncé deserved to win she’s still the bigger person. Check out some of the best reactions to the news below.
How you nominate Beyoncé FOUR times and not reward her with at least one award?! HOW?! #Emmys pic.twitter.com/2jzF3PWPRx

Lemonade was a masterpiece. I don’t care what the Emmys say, Beyoncé did that. pic.twitter.com/t6nP2NI0tG

Somewhere Beyoncé is laying in a bathtub of money
Jay: Bey, you didn’t win the Emmy
