The Versace Experience – Prelude 2 Gold sold for $4,087 on the online record store
A rare prince promo tape has become the most expensive cassette ever sold on Discogs. The highly collectible cassette was originally handed out fore free to attendees of the Versace collection of Paris Fashion Week in July 1985. While the tape is essentially a promo tool for Prince’s album The Gold Experience it contains some very rare remixes and edits of album tracks that are otherwise unavailable.
The previous most expensive release was a box set of Throbbing Gristle cassettes which sold for $2,200 in October 2014.
