TLC are set to perform at the London venue Koko on 9 May
US girl group TLC have announced a one-off date in London, their first ever UK performance. It arrives ahead of their Kickstarter-funded comeback album due in June. The exact date is yet to be announced and the release will be their final album, coming after the group’s 15-year hiatus. TLC’s last album was the 2002 release 3D.
On what we can expect from the final album, manager Bill Diggins said via the Kickstarter page, “I could go on in more detail to explain how TLC’s touring, schedule, writing schedule and producing schedule was delayed but the simple fact is that Tboz & Chilli were inspired to make a record that they could be proud of and they would not settle for less and sometimes you just cannot rush art. They demanded of themselves a record that would stand up to the great body of work created in the past and that you would be proud of; because your belief and support is the greatest form of love and we want you to be proud.”
The album will be the first to be recorded without Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes. Tickets will go on sale this Friday (24 March).
