The Avalanches reveal there’s a new album in the works

Apparently it’s “some of the best stuff” they’ve done

In a new interview with Sydney-based radio station FBI Radio, the Melbourne band reveal that they’ve been working on the follow-up to 2016’s release Wildflower. Member Robbie Chater said, “In the few weeks since we’ve been home from the States, me and Tony have just been writing.” So far, they’ve got eight songs that they’ll be playing to their label.

He described the new material as “really light”, and gave some insight into the process. “It’s flowing so quickly. I think getting Wildflower out of the way and following up Since I Left You feels like a weight’s been lifted.”

A release date is yet to be announced, with the band saying that it’s “definitely soon” and the album could be dropping next year.
