Kali Uchis links up with Jorja Smith for new track Tyrant

The Colombian-American singer-songwriter connects with the rising British talent for her latest single

Kali Uchis has shared her new track Tyrant online today featuring vocals from Jorja Smith. The single is from her as-yet-untitled debut album, and it first premiered on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio show. A release date is yet to be announced for the album, but it’s expected to be released this year.

According to the press release, Uchis described the track as a “post apocalyptic love song”, and it’s about wanting “to stay in the haze of puppy love forever and never face the power struggles, because that’s your only real escape from the cold realities of life.” Listen to the song in the player above.

Uchis recently collaborated with the Gorillaz on their 2017 album Humanz. Check out her interview with Noodle.
