The Horrors released their first new music in three years today, dropping new track Machine.
Comparisons were quickly drawn between the visual aesthetic of the single artwork and the work of London visual artist and longtime Arca collaborator Jesse Kanda.
The comparison was made by artist David Rudnick on Twitter who also pointed out the use of an obi strip and Japanese lettering.
The Horrors ripping off @JesseKanda then sticking an obi strip+japanese text on their new album’s cover for no reason. Dont Do This pic.twitter.com/SPCxckY0iC

Jesse Kanda also retweeted a user who made the observation and wrote, “they actually asked me too lol”, seemingly confirming that the band had indeed been in touch.
