The two partner up for a collaborative track and retro visual
After sharing teasers online yesterday (20 June), singer-songwriter Kali Uchis has released the new video Tyrant today (21 June) starring Drake collaborator and rising talent Jorja Smith. The track was released earlier this year and is the first taster of Uchis’ forthcoming debut album.
The Helmi-directed visual has a distinctly retro and surreal aesthetic. The clip depicts Uchis dancing in front of suspended TV screens set against a fiery background, and the artist singing in vintage cars.
Kali Uchis announced her first headline tour yesterday. Meanwhile, Smith has been confirmed for a string of festival dates this summer including the last edition of Secret Garden Party, Latitude Festival and Longitude. Furthermore, she’ll be playing at London’s Electric Brixton on 20 July. You can find more info and buy tickets here.
