The legendary composer will be playing at the internet station for the first time this week
NTS has announced that the pioneering composer, writer and pianist will be making his debut at the internet station this Friday. UK listeners can tune in to hear Sakamoto on the station from 2-3pm (BST), while listeners in Japan can tune in at 10-11pm (JST).
Earlier this year, Sakamoto made his return with the album async. It was his first solo album in eight years, since 2009’s Out of Noise, and the first since his recovery from throat cancer in 2015. The world listening premiere of async took place at Big Ears Festival in Knoxville, on 24 March.
