Dean Blunt has written an opera with music by Mica Levi

The Dean Blunt-directed piece will be showing at ICA London this month

Hyperdub has announced a new collaboration between Dean Blunt and Mica Levi. A Dean Blunt-directed opera, entitled Inna, will be showing at ICA London on 27 and 28 October. Commissioned and produced by ICA, the opera is written by the elusive former Hyper Williams member, with music scored by innovative composer Mica Levi.

Via ICA’s page, the opera’s blurb cryptically contains the two lines:

Cause anything’s possible
Oh anything is possible

The announcement comes via a video shared to YouTube, soundtracked by distorted guitars.

Blunt has been releasing material at a prolific rate this year, having recently directed the cryptic video for Actress’ Falling Rizlas. Previously, he’s released a white label vinyl and remixed the 18+ track Drama. Under his Babyfather project, he’s dropped the mixtape Cypher and furthermore, he’s shared the previously unreleased album Wahalla with folk artist Joanne Robertson. In April, he unveiled the instrumental album Hotep under the alias Blue Iverson.
