Marcel Dettmann to release a collaborative album on A-TON

Marcel Dettmann has announced a new album, due to land on the Ostgut Ton sub-label A-TON on 1 December.

A sonic interpretation of Berlin-based photographer Friederike von Rauch’s work, Marcel Dettmann presents RAUCH will feature the collaborators Felix K, Sa Pa and Simon Hoffman. Rauch has previously displayed her images in the exhibition 10 that acted as a prelude for Berghain’s ten-year anniversary in 2014.

The audio will soundtrack an art installation of Rauch’s images for the artist’s solo show at Goethe-Institut Paris, from 9 November to 11 January. Dettmann and Rauch have previously collaborated on an installation in 2011, entitled Ash.

The album will be made available digitally as one track, and A-TON are set to release the vinyl version as two tracks on either side.

Earlier this year, Dettmann released the Phantom Studies EP via Ostgut Ton, which he worked on with Ben Klock. His last full-length album was 2013’s Dettmann II.
