100% Silk to pay tribute to Ghost Ship fire victims with new compilation

Los Angeles-based label 100% Silk are set to release a new compilation album, entitled Silk to Dry the Tears, on 9 February.

The upcoming release will be a tribute to those who passed away from the Ghost Ship fire in Oakland last year. On 2 December 2016, a fire in the Oakland warehouse killed 36 people, including the two 100% Silk producers Nackt and Cherushii.

The compilation will include tracks from 31 artists affiliated with the label, and it features a contribution from Octo Octa. Titled Not Sure What to Do (Variation Zoning 4), the track is a new version of a demo she posted on her Soundcloud in 2016.

Half of the album’s profits will go towards Safer DIY Spaces – an Oakland-based coalition of artists, activitists, architects and contractors.

Check out the tracklist below. You can listen to Octo Octa’s contribution on Pitchfork.
