Kamasi Washington announced for Nuits Sonores’ opening concert

Jazz saxophonist and Kendrick Lamar collaborator Kamasi Washington has been confirmed for the opening show of Nuits Sonores’ 16th edition.

The electronic festival’s next instalment will take place at Lyon, from 6-13 May, while the opening will be staged at Auditorium de Lyon on 8 May.

This year, Washington released the EP Harmony of Difference via Young Turks, which features as Crack’s top EP of 2017. Known for co-writing Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp a Butterfly, Washington has also previously released his debut full-length The Epic via Flying Lotus’ label Brainfeeder.
