Metro Boomin samples Diana Ross on Big Sean and Travis Scott collaboration

Metro Boomin and Big Sean’s joint album Double or Nothing dropped today (8 December).

The first track, Go Legend, features a guest appearance from Travis Scott and includes a sample of Diana Ross’ Theme From Mahogany (Do You Know Where You’re Going To).

The sampled track is from the 1975 film Mahogany, produced by Motown Productions. The original version of the song was first recorded by American singer and actress Thelma Houston in 1973.

Double or Nothing is the follow-up to Big Sean’s I Decided, and production is handled by Metro Boomin. On the album, Metro Boomin said, “I was born in ’93 and a lot of projects [from that era] had one producer, maybe two. They sounded more cohesive – better as a whole.”

The release features a guest heavy tracklist, with appearances from Young Thug, Rae Sremmurd’s Swae Lee, 2 Chainz and 21 Savage.
