Berliner Festspiele announce 10-day programme featuring four projects from Terre Thaemlitz

Berliner Festspiele have announced details of the programme for MaerzMusik – a 10-day schedule of concerts, performances, installations, an exhibition and a discourse programme.

According to a press release, “the Berliner Festspiele are reflecting on the “Time Wars” of our present time and invite guests to experience contemporary music in unusual formats.”

Among the line-up, Terre Thaemlitz (aka DJ Sprinkles) will be presenting four works, two of which are premieres produced exclusively for MaerzMusik. Composer Ashley Fure will also be presenting two current works for the first time in Germany.

Expanding on the theme of MaerzMusik, Berliner Festspiele write, “Temporalities are at war. Less tangible than today’s material and immaterial conflicts, but no less real. The systemic temporal violence unleashed by turbocapitalism; the proliferation of non-human, digital time; the slow violence of environmental degradation; the relentless speeds of media attention; the dispossessed temporalities of migration.”
