Ableton releases new production software Live 10

Ableton’s Live 10 has been released today (6 February), and it’s the first major update to the popular software in almost five years.

For their latest release, Ableton introduces four new devices, improvements and a redesigned sound library. In this version, there’s a new synth called Wavetable along with effects called Echo, Drum Buss and Pedal. There’s also a feature called Capture which will remember sounds even when the record button hasn’t been pressed, and the software allows users to edit multiple MIDI clips at once.

Ableton’s Max for Live kit is now a built-in feature rather than be an add-on, and their latest drum processing device, Drum Buss, allows users more effective control over the sound of their drums. Furthermore, the Pedal functionality introduces analogue stomp boxes to the software.

Live 10 has been released in three different versions with varying features: Intro, Standard and Suite. The packages range from having 1500 to over 5000 new sounds, and 21 to 41 audio effects.
