Fila and Liam Hodges to drop SS18 collection this month

The Spring/Summer ’18 collaboration between Italian sportswear giant Fila and London designer Liam Hodges is set to land in stores on 15 February.

Blending sportswear aesthetics with workwear silhouettes, the collection has been made, as Hodges says, for “the guy that needs a work flex, not just a tracksuit”. It sees Fila’s colour blocking mix with the designer’s disparate influences of grime, pirate radio and zine culture. The collection also marks the brand first foray into denim, and the London designer has redesigned Fila’s Settanta Mark 3 jacket, which was once worn by Swedish tennis player Björn Borg in the 70s.

A screaming bear motif recurs throughout the collection – a reference to Edvard Munch’s famous 1893 painting The Scream – and with it, Hodges asks whether it’s possible to innovate in an era of information overload.

Last year, Crack Magazine hosted Liam Hodges and Fila’s London Fashion Week Men’s afterparty. Watch our video of the event here, and check out a selection of images from the collection below.
