A free exhibition at 180 Strand’s The Store X will celebrate the release of Wes Anderson’s upcoming stop-motion film Isle of Dogs.
Exhibition-goers will be treated to an up-close peek into the making of the film, via the pop-up’s sets and stop-motion puppets. A noodle bar inspired by the film will also be incorporated into the exhibition, serving bowls of ramen created by Akira Shimizu, executive chef at Engawa restaurant, Soho.
Produced by The Indian Paintbrush, Isle of Dogs tells the story of a boy searching for his missing dog in Japan. The voice cast includes Greta Gerwig, Bill Murray, Yoko Ono, Bryan Cranston, Jeff Goldblum, Kunichi Nomura, Akira Takayama, Tilda Swinton and Scarlett Johansson.
The film opened Berlin’s international film festival on 15 February – the first time an animated movie has done so.
The exhibition will run from 23 March to 5 April. Isle of Dogs is scheduled for release in US cinemas on 23 March, 2018, with an international release date set for April 2018.
