The icon came close to being cast in Ridley Scott’s 1982 cult classic
In a discussion with director Sophie Fiennes at the Film Society of Lincoln Center, Grace Jones spoke about the time she was almost cast in Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner – but just missed the boat.
In a conversation discussing her new documentary Bloodlight & Bami, the New York and Jamaican icon also touched upon the subject of Blade Runner. She said, “I was flying out of Paris, I remember, and I read the script and I really liked it. I said when I arrive I’m going to call and say, ‘Fuck it I’m going to do it.'”
However, she was told the roles had been casted. She adds, “They’re very quick, there’s always somebody in the wings.”
