Moby is auctioning off over 100 pieces of studio gear

The electronic music veteran is selling over 100 synths, turntables and various pieces of studio gear used across his career.

Moby will be partnering with Reverb to set up an online store, with all proceeds going towards the charity Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine. Amongst the bundle of gear is a Roland Jupiter-6 (previous owner: Joey Beltram), the Yamaha SY22 vector synth used to write his 1991 single Go, an Ibanez guitar and a Technics SL-1200MK2 turntable. Additionally, he’s also including the two sombreros worn in the 2013 video The Perfect Life.

According to a press release, the artist said, “This is the equipment I’ve used to make all my records. I have so much equipment and almost all of it has profound sentimental value to me, including synthesisers I started using in the 80s. But rather than keep it all in storage, I want to sell it for a good cause.”

Moby’s store opens on Thursday, 26 April. You can find more details on the equipment here.
