Novelist’s album marked as explicit on digital streaming services despite containing no expletives

The former Crack cover star has taken to Twitter to state that his debut album, Novelist Guy, has been listed as explicit on digital streaming services.

“There is not one expletive on my album,” he said. “This has not defeated the whole purpose of the album and I’d encourage you listen to it freely.”

As it stands, the explicit label is currently not applied to his first full-length on Spotify and Apple Music. It is, however, listed as explicit on Amazon Music.

In 2014, Novelist collaborated with Mumdance for Take Time, and later formed – and left – grime crew The Square. Following the collective, he’s since forged out his own path as a solo artist. Last year, he dropped the surprise EP Be Blessed, and the self-produced debut Novelist Guy was released independently this year, on 13 April.
