Graffitied message to Alex Turner appears on Hunter’s Bar in Sheffield

A piece of graffiti has been spotted on Hunter’s Bar in Sheffield.

Seemingly aimed at the Arctic Monkeys’ Alex Turner, the post reads “Hey Alex… How’s California?” with an image of a coffin.

Check it out in the below tweet.

The post is a reference to their 2006 track, Fake Tales of San Francisco which appeared on their debut album Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not. In the song, Turner sings, “He talks of San Francisco, he’s from Hunter’s Bar / I don’t quite know the distance / But I’m sure that’s far / Yeah I’m sure it’s pretty far.”

Turner now lives in Los Angeles and his new home is a big influence on the band’s most recent LP, Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino.
