Jordan Peele announces follow-up to Get Out

Us hits cinemas next year

Jordan Peele, filmmaker behind Get Out, announced his new movie via his social feeds last night. Called Us, the tagline on the teaser poster – which you can view below – states that it’s the “new nightmare” from Peele, who will write and direct.

While details are still scarce, we do know that the film will star Lupita Nyong’o, with Elisabeth Moss and Black Panther breakout star Winston Duke in contention for lead roles, according to Variety. Us will be produced by Ian Cooper and Peele for Monkeypaw Productions, alongside Sean McKittrick and Jason Blum. According to Universal Pictures, release date will be Friday 15 March 2019 in the US, with no UK date confirmed as yet.

Get Out came in at No. 6 in Crack Magazine’s Top 10 Films of 2017. The social thriller, a commentary on race in contemporary America, earned Peele a Best Original Screenplay Oscar at this year’s Academy Awards.
