KALLIDA Festival announces art programme

The Hereford festival will stage its sophomore edition at Baskerville Hall, on 22-24 June.

At KALLIDA, the organisers believe that the visual aspect of the festival is just as important as the sounds. Aside from music, the three-day event will also focus on the visual arts, with the organisers enlisting a number of creatives to produce bespoke installations and artworks for the site.

Working with abstraction, interactivity and light, London-based media artist Aphra Shemza has been commissioned for a new piece at the festival, along with light artist Dan Williams and artistic duo Louis Shambles and Rosy Vivi. Optical illusionist Zaron Mizmeras will be providing festival-goers with an immersive experience via projections on the windows of the dance space; and taking on the walls with his own projections is Sheffield-based artist Peter Griffiths. Mixed media projections across the site will come from artist Tom Flynn.

As for music, the mansion is set to host performances from Daniel Avery, NTS regular Moxie, underground sensation Afriquoi, DnB pioneer Rockwell, Night Slugs founder L-Vis 1990 and Rye Wax boss Tom Unlikely, amongst others.
