R Kelly responds to sex cult allegations in 19-minute song I Admit

R Kelly

R Kelly addresses the sexual abuse allegations made against him on the new track I Admit.

Last year, Buzzfeed published an article detailing R Kelly’s alleged cult. According to the article, Kelly keeps a roster of women hostage via methods of sexual and emotional manipulation, and physical abuse. Allegations have emerged describing how Kelly controls what his inner circle of women wear, eat, when they sleep, bathe, and how they engage in recorded sexual acts. Phones have allegedly been taken away, and permission must be gained for women to leave their locations. Several former insiders and victims have come forward with details of underage sexual relations with the star.

“I got trapped,” a former insider, named Kitti Jones, said. “I had people telling me I was an idiot. But it took me a long time to realise they were right, and I’m talking now because I hope I can help some of these other girls.”

Clocking in at 19 minutes, Kelly sings on his new track: “I admit I fuck with all the ladies, that’s both older and young ladies (ladies, yeah)/ But tell me how they call it pedophile because that shit is crazy (crazy)/ You may have your opinions, entitled to your opinions (opinions)/ But really am I supposed to go to jail or lose my career because of your opinion“.

He continues, “Said I’m abusing these women, what the fuck that’s some absurd shit (what?)/ They’re brainwashed, really? (really)/ Kidnapped, really? (really)/ Can’t eat, really? (really)/ Real talk, that shit sound silly (yeah)/ And if you really, really wanna know (know)/ Her father dropped her off at my show (show)/ And told this boy to put her on stage (yeah)/ I admit that she was over age (age)/ I admit that I was feelin’ her and I admit that she was feelin’ me (she was feelin’ me)“.

Earlier this year, Spotify announced that it would stop promoting Kelly’s music through their editorial and algorithmic playlists. To this, Kelly wrote on I Admit, “Spotify, took me off they playlist (playlist)/ I admit that I, been underrated (rated)/ I’m not convicted, not arrested, my dragged my name in the dirt“.

In March, BBC Three released the documentary R Kelly: Sex, Girls and Videotapes. Directed by former fan Ben Zand in Chicago, the documentary accuses the RnB artist of keeping a 14-year-old as a “sex pet”.
