IAMDDB and Kamaal Williams link up for collaboration

Kamaal Williams, aka Henry Wu, has revealed that he’s been in the studio with IAMDDB.

The confirmation comes via an online post from Wu, who back in February, tweeted to his fans asking who they’d like to see appear as a guest vocalist on his next album. At the time, IAMDDB publicly responded with, “Coughs… Xcuse me brother Wu…”.

Wu later followed up with a tweet in June revealing that the Twitter exchange was, in fact, coming to fruition and a collaboration was in the works. “Wait til me and @iamddb get back in the studio it’s a madness,” he said.

This week, Wu shared an image on Facebook of the two musicians with the caption: “Back in the studio with the realest IAMDDB …. we about to make history inshallah. Don’t get us mad…..” [sic]

Earlier this year Wu released his debut full-length as Kamaal Williams, called The Return. In January, he teamed up with Earl Jeffers on the two-track EP Projections, dropped via Motor City Drum Ensemble and Pablo Valentino’s joint label, MCDE. Meanwhile, 2017 has seen IAMDDB embark upon her debut UK tour. Comprised of four dates to Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester and London, each show was billed as a one-off experience with a different dress code.
