Watch the surreal and gripping video for Timothy Clerkin’s Knife Edge Heart

In May, Timothy Clerkin launched his own label Insult to Injury. Now, the London-based producer returns with a new EP entitled Knife Edge Heart.

Following on from his 2017 EP Serenade, his latest sees the artist return to Ransom Note for a four-track release that fuses stirring techno with swirling, shoegazey textures and guitar lines. Longtime collaborator Natalie Reiss features on the title track, and the EP signs out with a Gabe Gurnsey remix.

Premiering on Crack Magazine today is the video for Knife Edge Heart, a gripping six-minute visual directed by Scott J Hutchins, comprised of red-washed clips and vignettes from handheld cameras. A distressed lead character searches for answers as his reality merges with hallucinations, and on his search uses a handheld camera to document the evidence of his reality. A labyrinth of dark clubs and night buses underpinned by a mysterious narrative, it’s a fitting visual for the nocturnal, introspective track.
