Massive Attack’s Mezzanine to be reissued on coloured vinyl

Massive Attack

Massive Attack’s Mezzanine is getting the reissue treatment.

The trip-hop duo have announced the reissue of their classic 1998 album. The remastered edition will come as a triple-vinyl box set and as a 2xCD set. The former will feature three coloured vinyls with a book of exclusive images by Robert Del Naja and Nick Knight. Furthermore, it’ll come in a heat sensitive box, meaning the sleeve will change colour when handled or exposed to heat. Both packages will include previously unheard Mad Professor dub remixes from the original sessions.

Mezzanine turned 20 on 20 April this year. To mark its anniversary, the pair encoded the seminal album into 920,000 strands of DNA.

Upon its release two decades ago, Mezzanine became the first album to be made available via a free stream on the internet using Real Audio Player.
