First names announced for Sónar Reykjavík 2019

Iceland’s newly expanded electronic music festival signs up Richie Hawtin, Jon Hopkins, Little Simz, Objekt and more.

Experimental music and arts festival Sónar Reykjavík has released the first wave of names for the 2019 edition, including techno pioneer Richie Hawtin, British producer Jon Hopkins, former Crack Magazine cover star Little Simz and Pan affiliate Objekt.

The festival, which expands to three days for 2019, has also locked in Yves Tumor, a live set from Fatima Al Qadiri, Fractal Fantasy duo Sinjin Hawke and Zora Jones and Aïsha Devi.

The festival programme also features a number of homegrown artists to complement the international focus. Among the Icelandic acts playing are ClubDub and kef LAVÍK, JFDR, singer GDRN and aYia.
