Solange

In a new interview with T Magazineit’s revealed that Solange’s next album will be arriving in the autumn season.

In March, Solange confirmed she’s been working on new music and she’s been jamming in the studio with The Internet’s Steve Lacy. Now, the follow-up to A Seat at the Table is confirmed for release soon. Though a release date is yet to be revealed, journalist Ayana Mathis reveals in the new article that the album is “so close to being finished” and will arrive “this fall, probably sometime soon”.

“There is a lot of jazz at the core,” Solange states. “But with electronic and hip-hop drum and bass because I want it to bang and make your trunk rattle.” As described my Mathis, the LP will be “warm… fluid and more sensual than her last one”.

Elaborating on the process of her forthcoming LP, Solange says the album is still a work in progress, “I like to be able to tell the story in 13 different ways, then I like to edit”.

In April, she released the interdisciplinary performance art piece Metatronia online.
