Björk to debut new show Cornucopia at The Shed in New York

Bjork Cornucopia

The former Crack Magazine cover star has announced a new concert production entitled Cornucopia.

Describing it as her “most elaborate stage concert yet”, the live show will premiere as part of The Shed’s opening season in spring 2019. Björk states the piece is “where the acoustic and digital will shake hands, encouraged by a bespoke team of collaborators”.

Alex Poots, the Shed’s artistic director and CEO told Variety in a statement, “This is Björk’s first-ever production created with theatrical collaborators. We are honoured and excited to be producing this new work at The Shed.”

The Shed is a new arts venue located in Manhattan, New York, and Cornucopia will be held in its largest space called the McCourt. According to Variety, the music will feature seven-piece flute ensemble Viibra. John Tiffany is set to direct the piece, while artist Tobias Gremmler will create the digital visual design with stage designer Chloe Lamford. Furthermore, collaborator James Merry will also be a part of the team, and costume design is set to be helmed by Iris van Herpen.
