The party celebrates one year of Marlon Hoffstadt’s phone-free party at Berlin’s Renate on 16-18 February.
Renate is set to host a 32-hour rave in honour of Savour the Moment’s first birthday. Over 30 acts have been announced for the line-up, including NTS resident and Fabric regular Moxie, lo-fi house selector D Tiffany, and Ninja Tune signee Dauwd.
The night comes via Berlin DJ and producer Marlon Hoffstadt, who started Savour the Moment in February 2018. Quickly establishing itself within the German capital, previous editions have secured acts such as NYC producer Baltra and Detroit’s DJ Assault.
Popping up in venues like Wilde Renate and ELSE, Savour the Moment has built its identity around its no-phones policy, incorporating a rejection of texting, Shazam and club selfies at its parties. As the event description explains: “Far too often the average clubber is more occupied with his phone than with the real-time experience unfolding before him, missing wonderful moments of a club night. Savour the Moment is a safe space for people who do not Shazam or want to share an Instagram story. Leave your phones at home, and if you do not wish to part with the best/worst cyborg piece of you, at least switch it to flight mode.”
