The news comes after the musician provided the soundtrack for Abloh’s AW19 runway show earlier this year.
Fresh from showcasing his AW19 collection at Paris Fashion Week Men’s, Virgil Abloh has dropped a third line for pre-fall 2019. Entitled Staple Edition, the collection premiered in a new lookbook photographed by Nick Sethi, with Dev Hynes making a special appearance as one of the featured models.
The lookbook comes alongside a video where Abloh explains the inspirations behind Staple Edition, amongst which is Jay Kay, the singer from Jamiroquai.
It’s not the first time Hynes – otherwise known by his moniker Blood Orange – has modelled for Louis Vuitton. In June, Hynes walked the runway for Abloh’s debut Louis Vuitton show in Paris, along with Playboi Carti and Steve Lacy.
On 17 January, Hynes worked with Ian Isiah, Mikey Freedom Hart, Jason RC, Abloh and Benji B to produce a live soundtrack for the Louis Vuitton Men’s AW19 show. He told WWD, “I wrote the [Louis Vuitton] music three days [before the show] and I have been rehearsing 24 hours a day since.”
