New London festival Maiden Voyage announces Roy Ayers, Gilles Peterson and Nabihah Iqbal for line-up

The Jazz Cafe-curated festival will stage its inaugural edition at London’s Three Mills Island on 25 August.

Maiden Voyage has announced Gilles Peterson, jazz legend Roy Ayers and Ninja Tune signee Nabihah Iqbal for their debut edition. Also on the billing are Madlib, Awesome Tapes from Africa, Bradley Zero, Charlotte Dos Santos, Louis Cole, Illa J, Steam Down and Zakia.

Organised by The Jazz Cafe, the festival will bring together musicians working across jazz, hip hop, afrobeat and funk to a single stage in Stratford. Situated nearby to Olympic Park, the venue is the oldest tidal mill in the country, believed to date back to the 11th century.

Tickets will go on sale at 12pm (GMT) on 15 February, and will be priced at £20. For further information, head to Maiden Voyage’s Facebook page.
