The new Berlin festival has revealed its second wave of acts.
Etuk Ubong Quartet, Mokete Mokete and Berliner ANNAVR join the line-up for Berlin Jazz Experiment’s inaugural edition. Those also announce for the programme include Nerija and Maisha affiliate Nardeydey, Glass Museum and Gondwana Records’ Allysha Joy, Trost’s Katharina Ernst, Swedish saxophonist Y-Otis and Aron Ottignon.
Previously confirmed acts are duendita, Emma-Jean Thackray, Afrofuturist pioneers Sun Ra Arkestra and Moses Boyd.
Berlin Jazz Experiment is set to present a gender-balanced programme at its first chapter, with an equal amount of women and men on the line-up. The festival will also team up with Oye Records to host a two-day record fair in Berlin’s Prenzlauerberg district.
The festival will be held next to the River Spree, at Holzmarkt, between 31 May to 2 June. Tickets can be purchased via the festival’s website.
