The line-up for Simple Things 2019 has arrived.

Bristol’s leading multi-venue music festival has announced the line-up for its 2019 edition. Taking place on 19 October, Holly Herndon headlines the day programme, bringing her AI-assisted record PROTO to Bristol for a special audiovisual show. Meanwhile, the likes of A Certain Ratio, Ghanian high life pioneer Ata Kak and more than 40 other acts including Nilüfer Yanya, Murlo (A/V), Melt Yourself Down, Big Joanie and Biig Piig will also perform throughout the city. Hyperdub boss Kode9 will present a special Japanese video game-inspired audiovisual performance in collaboration with animator Kōji Morimoto.

Heading up the night programme will be techno star Avalon Emerson. She’ll be joined by the likes of Jayda G, Andrew Weatherall, Dr Rubenstein and Bruce. Laurel Halo and Parris are also set to team up for a very special b2b set.

Ahead of the main event, the festival will kick off proceedings with an opening concert on 18 October. William Basinski, Evelina Domnitch and Dmitry Gelfand will present the world premiere of their new audiovisual piece 1000 Peacock Feathers In Foaming Acid at Bristol’s IMAX cinema.

Tickets go on sale at 10am (BST) tomorrow (1 August). For the full programme, head to the Simple Things website.
