Since opening in April 2018 the venue has raised £50,000 for mental health charities.

Tottenham club The Cause will close in January 2020. The independent club opened in April last year with the aim of raising £25,000 for charity partners Mind In Haringey, C.A.L.M. and Help Musicians UK, and was set up to run for a limited period. The club surpassed its goal having raised £50,000 in total, six months before it officially closes its doors. The money will go towards multiple charities beyond The Cause’s charity partners, such as Help the Homeless.

The upcoming autumn/winter season will see the likes of of Batu, Avalon Emerson, ShyBoi, Hodge, Axel Boman, Joy Orbison, Maurice Fulton, Ben Sims, Alienata, and more take to the club, marking the end of its “first chapter.” A closing party is set to take place on New Year’s Eve.

The club was initially planned to close after a one-year lease, but in April the agreement was extended for January 2020.

The Cause also currently houses the DIY station Threads Radio – it is unknown what the future holds for the station. There is also no news on when or where the club might open for its next chapter.
