Watch Sassy 009’s ice hockey-themed video for Maybe in the Summer

Sassy 009’s brooding banger gets a surreal Hockey-themed new video.

Sassy 009 is Norway’s fast-rising new electronic star. Having started life as a trio, Sassy is now the solo project of singer/producer Sunniva Lindgård. Fusing club sounds with a Scandi-pop sensibility, she specialises in making tunes that are equally at home on pop playlists and basement dancefloors.

Today we’re excited to be premiering the video for her latest single Maybe in the Summer, taken from her upcoming EP Kill Sassy 009. Directed by Kenneth Karlstad, the video takes place at an ice hockey game, with Sassy 009 herself in goal. Imbued with a sense of surrealism and a retro feel, the video is a perfect accompaniment to the nostalgic synth lines that run throughout Maybe in the Summer.

Speaking about the track Sassy said: “My fascination for hockey in meeting with Kenneth Karlstad’s surrealistic, abnormal form of expression made this video possible. He managed to capture both the riddle aspect of my music, while also embracing the speed and tempo in the song. It really mirrors where I am with this project today, and it also helps me understand where I’m headed with it.”
