After 13 and a half years, the original Sankeys Soap team will reunite for a celebratory event on 29 December.
Steve Lawler and Paul Woolfood will head up the programme alongside residents for the second ever Concourse show. The press release states that “the return of Sankeys Soap will be a celebration of Manchester’s rich musical heritage,” with the aim of hosting the revered 90s party to a new audience at Depot.
Manchester club Sankeys Soap first began in 1994 and made its name as a key part of the city’s musical history. Housed within a disused soap factory, the club became one of the UK’s best-loved venues, hosting the likes of Daft Punk, The Chemical Brothers and New Order. The club was forced to close in 2006, but later reopened as Sankeys. After 25 years, the club finally closed its doors in July 2019.
Tickets will be available from 10am (GMT) tomorrow (21 November).
