The Oscar-nominated composer will start 2020 with another high profile score.

Mica Levi has composed the score for Zola, a new film based on a viral Twitter thread by Aziah “Zola” King. Zola tells the story of King’s trip to Florida with another stripper, her boyfriend and her pimp. Directed by Janicza Bravo, who directed the Juneteenth episode of Donald Glover’s Atlanta and directed, wrote and produced Lemon, the film is set to premiere at Sundance Film Festival in January.

Zola marks Levi’s latest score and follows her 2019 scores for Monos and Jonathan Glazer’s recent short The Fall.

Take a look at the announcement from A24 below and revisit King’s viral thread here.
