The nominations for the 2020 Academy Awards have been announced.
Hildur Guðnadóttir (Joker), Randy Newman (Marriage Story), John Williams (Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker), Alexandre Desplat (Little Women) and Thomas Newman (1917) have been nominated for the Oscar for Best Original Score.
The news comes alongside the full list of nominations for the 2020 Oscars which was announced earlier today (13 January). Randy Newman was also nominated for Best Original Song for I Can’t Let You Throw Yourself Away (Toy Story 4), alongside Elton John and Bernie Taupin for Love Me Again (Rocketman), Joshuah Brian Campbell and Cynthia Erivo for Stand Up (Harriet), Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez for Into the Unknown (Frozen 2) and Diane Warren for I’m Standing With You (Breakthrough). As Pitchfork report, Thom Yorke and Beyoncé were originally listed on the Best Original Song shortlist, but failed to make the final nominations.
Elsewhere, Joker, The Irishman, Ford Vs Ferrari, Jojo Rabbit, Little Women, Marriage Story, 1917, Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood and Parasite have been nominated for Best Picture.
