Alva Noto shares five new versions of UNIEQAV highlights.
Alva Noto has announced a new EP UNIEQAV Remixes. Featuring five reworks of tracks from the ambient icon’s 2019 album UNIEQAV, the new EP sees Noto enlist the likes of Fatima Al Qadari, JASSS, Ben Frost and more. Available on streaming services as singles today (4 March) and a digital exclusive bundle from 27 March, the new tracks take Noto’s work further towards the dancefloor, originally commissioned as part of his performance at UNiT in Tokyo.
The new EP features remixes of three tracks from UNIEQAV, Uni Sub, Uni Normal and Uni Blue. Fatima Al Qadiri and Ben Frost have taken on Uni Sub and Uni Normal respectively while JASSS, Florian Kupfer and Luis Da Silva have contributed remixes of Uni Blue.
The new remixes come shortly after Alva Noto shared a series of videos to accompany UNIEQAV. Conceived as an evolution of those used for the ‘Uni’ shows, they include a custom-made piece of hardware that triggers video in real-time, according to the audio created by the performance.
