| Dear Festival-goers, ⠀ ⠀ The Festival team was looking forward to unveiling today the line-up of its 54th edition. But given the exceptional circumstances we are all currently facing, we have decided to postpone this announcement and will communicate the new date as soon as possible.⠀ ⠀ Concerned by the seriousness of the situation and mindful of its evolution, the Festival management is closely assessing developments in conjunction with both the authorities and those involved in the organisation of the event. To date, the holding of the Festival, from 3 to 18 July 2020, is not compromised. Our team is therefore continuing its work, in hope and humility, to enable this year’s Festival to happen under the best possible conditions.⠀ ⠀ The entire Festival team would like to thank everyone who is contributing, be it directly or indirectly, to the collective effort to combat the pandemic. The Swiss festival has opened its archives for the general public.

Switzerland’s Montreux Jazz Festival has made 50 of its historic concerts available to watch online for free. Available on concert and music documentary streaming site Qello for the next month, the offering includes performances from the likes of Nina Simone, Wu-Tang Clan, Lou Reed, Johnny Cash, Patti Smith, Marvin Gaye, Etta James, Talk Talk and James Brown.

The festival announced the news in an Instagram post alongside an announcement that organisers were watching developments around the coronavirus pandemic closely but currently had no plans to cancel or postpone the festival, which is due to take place 3-18 July.
