REMAIIN launches open call for musical projects with non-western influences

SKAŅU MEŽS

A new project is looking for submissions.

REMAIIN, the abbreviation for Radical European Music and its Intercultural Nature, is a new project exploring non-European influences in avant-garde and experimental music. The aim of REMAIIN is to highlight the effects of globalisation, such as cultural exchange, enrichment and interaction. The project is looking for new works and has launched an open call for musical proposals that align with its theme.

Proposals can be based on installations, concert programmes, compositions, artist collaborations and more. Four new works will be selected from the open call, and they’ll be published on REMAIIN’s website.

Co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union, the project is run by the three festivals Skaņu Mežs, Wilde Westen and Out.Ra, along with the German concert series Kontraklang.
