do it (around the world) is encouraging people to make art in their homes.
Arca, FKA Twigs and Kelsey Lu are among those contributing to a new chapter of do it, Hans Ulrich Obrist‘s ‘exhibition-in-progress.’ The exhibition sees renown artists, musicians and creatives share simple instructions for how to make an artwork, designed to be followed at home and accessible to as many people as possible.
The new chapter, do it (around the world), is spearheaded by The Serpentine Gallery in London, where Obrist serves as Artistic Director, Independent Curators International in New York, Kaldo Public Art Projects in Sydney and Google Arts & Culture, the latter of which will host the project on a new custom-built hub. New ‘do its’ will be uploaded every week along with archival instructions from previous chapters of the exhibition.
Hans Ulrich Obrist created do it in Paris in 1993. Over 400 artists have contributed to the project, including Yoko Ono, Louise Bourgeois and Tracey Emin. The likes of Virgil Abloh, Chino Amobi, Es Devlin, James Massiah and many more have contributed to the exhibition’s new chapter.
Head to the do it hub for more information and to get involved in the exhibition.
